*HUMP* Day

Wednesday has traditionally been the worst day of the week for me. Traditionally, when something negative happens to me (breakups, colds, vacuum cleaners acquiring sharp teeth) it happens on a Wednesday. Not that I'm a great believer in luck, I'm not. Maybe I subconsciously sabotage myself though, I had a few Wednesday coincidences and that led to me believing in the nastiness of this particular day of the week, though. That could be and all the bad Wednesdays in the past few years are just the result of programming myself into a lousy day. That's certainly possible, but I dunno. We all convince ourselves into most everything, don't we? A lot of time, what we expect will happen, happens. Whether it's something horrible or something great. I don't think there's that much that surprises us in life, most everything is a result of the actions that consciously came before it.

Not that every single consequence is determined by the person who it happens to (could anyone have predicted that tsunami? Fuck no.) But very little happens by sheer luck or chance. Even a lottery winner has to make the effort to go to the gas station to pick up a ticket. So, maybe my expectations of shit-tastic Wednesdays are what causes them to occur so ass-blowingly. I dunno. That's a resolution, though. To try and make Wednesday the best day out of the week instead of the worst. It used to be a lot easier when The Annex had all-you-can-drink on Wednesday nights, though. I hear they're doing that on Thursdays again, is there any bands playing that I'd want to see? Not really.

Nada Surf's at The Annex on Saturday, that's cool. I liked that "Popular" song, and were they the ones that had the "Van Halen" song, or was that some other mid-90's novelty song wonder? I heard they had a great record in 2003, but I was too busy trying to understand emo at the time to pay attention. That'll go on my someday/maybe list, I might allofmp3 it. Hey, that's a good idea.
